I may be muddying up the waters, but....I have a Josiah Goggans/Zilpha Waldrup whose son, George Washington Goggans married Margaret Elizabeth "Lizzie" Ayers, b. 1824 SC. They married in Paulding Co. GA but were in Haralson Co. by 1860. Lizzie was the dtr of Martin Ayers and Sara Simmons, both born SC prob. Greenville/Abbeville.
Martin Ayers, Jr. married Elizabeth Ann Goggans, dtr of above Josiah/Zilpha.
Also have Alexander Goggins who married Mary Felton and their daughter, Elizabeth Goggins married Hiram Gann. I believe these Goggans and Goggins are one and the same family. Some have given the same date of birth for both Elizabeths. Some have given both Elizabeths as the dtr of Josiah and Zilpha. Alexander just happened to also name a dtr. Zilpha Goggins.
There were several Ayers/Goggans marriages.
Then, my gg aunt Vianna Dean married James W. Rowell b. abt 1858. (of course there's another James W. Rowell b. the same year, who also lived in Haralson Co. GA). I believe that James W. Dean who married Vianna Dean was the son of Thompson Rowell. (I've left it up to the Rowells to figure this one out.)
my 4th great aunt, Matilda Chandler (Carter), married Gabriel Smith, Sr. Gabriel and his first wife, Sarah Downs were the parents of Gabriel Smith who married Nancy Cain. I have 10 children for Gabriel/Nancy. I didn't have the first name of Arminda's husband. But do have a notation that Arminda was a twin to Lucinda Smith. Sarah Smith is listed as a twin to Anna Smith.
