Just located an obituary for my great-grandfather in the publication, "Western Methodist," which states that my g.grandfather, John Wesley Bridges, was born in Harris County, Georgia, 04 Feb 1830. However, I find them in Hall County, Georgia in 1830, and in Harris County, GA in 1840.
He was the son of Dr. Benjamin F. Bridges, Jr., of Marion/Marlboro Dists, SC. Other members of his family migrated to Meriwether County, GA; later, a lot of these chose to move south to Macon Co., GA, and Dr. Ben took his family of 13 children and moved west across the Mississippi to Little Rock, Arkansas about 1845.
