William is more than likely a son or relative of Henry and Martha Mathews. Unfortunately the microfilm copy of Henry's will is unreadable. Known children of Henry and Martha are Arthur, Mary, Martha, Sarina (sabrina), Temperance. Judging by the names the William and Malcy (Molgy) used for their children chances are pretty good that William and Henry are son,father.
Henry and Martha came to Harris county in 1820's from Tuscaloosa County Alaabama. Prior to that they were in Georgia. With them came an older Tempe Mathews. She was in Washington Co. Georgia in 1820. I haven't been able to trace them any further than that. Other than Henry born in Virginia circa 1785 and Martha born in North Carolina.
Henry and Martha were orginal members of Clower Church in Harris County. If you can get a copy of the History of Harris County the following pages of a Wm:94 143,490, W.: 698,23,215
