This is my husbands g-g-grand mother. She m. John A.J. Miers at the lates Jan-Feb 1861. Their son, Walter F. Miers was b. @ 25 Nov 1861 & d. 1 July, 1927 of a heart attack in Buena Vista, Marion Cty., GA and was the Sheriff of that county. There just doesn't seem to be a trace of Walter F. Miers befor his parents and nothing of them until they were mentioned on his death certificate.
