Rebecca Calaham age 40 is shown in the 1850 Harris Co Census Goodman's District, with children Susan 12, John 10, George 7 and Sarah 4. I am trying to find her husband who apparently died or left between 1846 and Nov. 1850. William Calaham 17 is shown living five houses away with William Newsome 63 and Frances 54, possibly another son who has moved out. In the 1860 Cencus, none are in Harris County, but Susan, John Wesley and Sarah are in Chambers County, AL each with different families (not Calaham or Callahan). Rebecca may have died between 1850 and 1860. Other Callahan families also moved to Chambers from Georgia from 1840 to 1860 and may be related. John Wesley Callahan was my great great grandfather. His obituary says that he was born in Harris County in 1840. Does anyone have any information on this family in Harris County? Thanks!
