I am looking for the ancestors and descendants of John W. Pruitt <b. 1845, d. 1904 – Bur: Providence Methodist Cemetery> as well as the parents of his wife Lucy A. <<possibly Ackerman or Crittenden>> <b. 1853, d. 17 Aug 1932 – Bur. Providence Methodist Cemetery>. This family appears on the Census records for 1870, 1880, 1900, 1910 and 1930 at Shoal Creek District, Hart, GA and may have been in the area for some years before 1870.
In the 1870 census of Hart Co GA, John and Lucy live next door to William Pruitt (Prewitt) age 49 and Annie age 52. It is possible that William and Annie are John's parents but no proof has yet been found.

--Charles E. Pruitt—b. 22 Jan 1887, d. 30 Jan 1954 <<Wife: Blanche, 4 boys, 2 girls; Also lived in OK, FL & TX>>
--Dayton Pruitt—b. May 1889, d. 1926 <<May have lived in or near Savannah, GA; Believed to have been in business with his brother, Jim. Registerd for WWI Draft in Hart Co.>>
--George Herbert Pruitt—b. 8 Aug 1891, d. 6 Dec 1941 <<Wife: Willie L. Crawford, 2 boys: George & Jimmy, 2 girls: Hilda & Vera; Lived in Westminster, Oconee, SC; Bur: South Union Baptist Cemetery, Fairplay, Oconee, SC>>
