Hi
Thanks so much for the information. George Ray purchased land from William Head Jr in 1798 in Jackson co Ga. The land was in between the north and middle fork of the Oconee River. that land was in Clarke co Ga whn it was formed in 1801 and is now in Oconee co Ga. I believe it is just east of Athens Ga. Could I ask another favor. My ancestor was Benjamin Church who lived in Haversham co ga in the 1820's. He went to Fayetta co Ga when it was formed in I believe 1827. He was listed on the 1830 Campbell co Ga census and after that no researcher has any record about him. Today I found a record from Jackson co Ga in 1830. His son Gabriel or Gabril B Church witnessed a document. I don't know why Gabriel B Church was in Jackson co Ga in 1830 because he was in Campbell co Ga in the early 1830's. If it wouldn't be too much troube if you have some reference you could look at would you mind seeing if there is a Benjamin church listed? I don't know why he would be listed in Jackson co Ga except that he was in Franklin co Ga in 1818 and when Habersham co Ga in the 1820 Habersham co Ga census. I know Jackson co Ga was formed from Franklin co Ga so maybe he might have been listed. I can not find any record about him in Habersham co ga in the 1820's. Thanks,Ross
