Howard, I am directly descended from Zachariah Morris who traveled with his young wife Rachel Jones in 1812. They stopped near the Fort of St. Louis and eventually settled down in Clinton County, IL around 1820, living near the area the whole time. They settled right on the eastern county line bordering Marion County and Rachel's mother eventually moved adjacent to them in Marion County after she widowed. She was originally a Whaley. (as in the Whaley's involved in the regicide in England.) Part of Zachariah's family eventually moved west and ended up in California. There was a John Morris out there that actually invented the ballpoint pen and Parker Bothers tried to steal the idea but he had patented it and won a settlement from them in court early in the 1900's.

I cannot get you to William though. I have hit your same wall. Who of the siblings did you descend from?
