The following is from a letter written in 1898 by a woman who lived in Jasper County.
"Russell died and was buried at the old cemetery at Leaksville by his father."
Can anyone identify the location of this cemetery in Leaksville?
From old maps it looks like Leaksville (or Leakesville or Leakton) was on the county line of Newton and Jasper counties along the road that ran from Covington to Monticello. I can't find anything on current maps.
