The Norman Family of Lincoln County, GA 2005 Reunion

Make plans to attend this year's Norman Family Reunion to be held August 5-6, 2005.

Please bring your old photos and documents to share during our meetings. We will have a display of the pictures and memories. We hope to have a scanner so that we can preserve the old photos and documents to post on the web site.

Registration and the "Kith and Kin Get-together" will be Friday evening, Aug. 5th 6:00 pm at the Lincoln Center. Finger foods and snacks will be prepared by the local "Norman Cousins." We always have a great variety of foods and goodies.

Saturday will be a full day with our Memorial Service beginning at 10:00 am at Midway Church for those loved ones who have passed away during the past two years. If you have a loved one you want to be remembered, please send in the information to me. If you have seen a remembrance of your loved one in a newsletter during the past two years, they will automatically be included in the Memorial Service.

The banquet will be Saturday evening at 7:00 pm. The menu will be Bar-B-Que, hash and rice, cole slaw, light bread, pickles and tea. We will also have chicken strips for those who do not eat Bar-B-Que. Dress is casual. There will be a brief report on the DNA testing and what it has and has not revealed about our Norman beginnings. We ask that you search your memories of your childhood and stories told to you by older ancestors for tales to tell at the Saturday night banquet. Please write down any tales you have about life in Lincoln County or about Normans that would make us laugh or even cry a little. If you don't want to personally relate the story, we will have someone to do it for you. These wonderful memories should not be lost.

There will be others activities planned for Saturday afternoon which include a cemetery tour of the old cemeteries including William's burial site. They will be noted in the June Newsletter along with your registration form. We hope you will begin making your plans to be with us on the 5th & 6th of August. We'll be looking for you!!!

Those who stay over until Sunday can meet for breakfast at the Home Cafe at 8:00 am and are always invited to attend the church services of your choice.

Concerning motel accommodations, the Cullars Inn in Lincolnton (706) 359-6161, has blocked out a group of 12 rooms for the Norman Family Assn. members. When you contact them please advise them you are a Norman Family Assn. member. Please call early to get your room reserved. We usually have about 100 Normans and Normans-in-law attending. We would love to see that number grow.

A registration form that can be printed out and maile in is available on the Lincoln County Norman web site at:
