VA and NC indian descendants

Hi,

I descend from the Granville county nc, Orange county VA, and Spotsylvania county VA Collins...Susanna Collins/Collings who was the Daughter of "Indian" Cati Collins/Collings who was the brother of Orange county VA's "Indian" John Collins/Collings.

I have started the Manahoac Saponi Nation.

The goal is to bring together all the Manahoac and Saponi descendants, to promote our heritage and culture, preserve our ancestor's history, and above all....give our ancestors their due justice.

Currently members are descended from the Collins, Griffin, Bollins, Irwin/Erwin, Austin, and Harrison (includeing the various spellings) of Virginia and North Carolina's 1600/1700's. We have conducted years of research into this matter before finnally bringing back our ancestorial Manahoac nation name. The last time our Manahoac name got used was 1728....that is nearly 300 years...today is the day to bring it back. From the Spotsylvania county Va and Orange county VA Manahoacs our name became the Saponi due to the Fort Christianna treaty, from there we became known as Melungeons, Lumbee, Pamunkey, Piscataway, and Mattamuskeet.

Keep in mind that there is a two different lines of Bollins....one descends from Pocahontas which is not from the Manahoac Saponi lines.

Thank you and please spread the word.
