All of Zachariah Wood's children, including possibly Mary, his wife, went west except for Randolph Wood, and Theodocia Wood Fowler. As stated above Randolph went to Spartanburg Co, SC around 1846 and was in the 1850 census there. His widow is in the 1860 Cherokee Co GA Census and it is not know where or when Randolph Wood died. Zachariah's son, Middleton Wood, a blacksmith, went to Whiteside Co, Illinois. Susannah Wood Guthrie, along with brothers, Carter Wood, Joel Wood, and Nelson Wood with their families went to the White Co, AR area before 1840. The elderly female in the 1840 Roanoke, Randolph Co, AR census of the family of Nelson Wood may have been Mary, his (step)mother(aged 60-70). I have lots of information on the Zachariah Wood family which I will gladly share.
