Vera M. McDowell
Martinez, GA – Mrs. Vera M. McDowell, 80, wife of the late James M. McDowell, entered into rest Thursday, October 22, 2009, at The Place at Martinez.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday, October 27, 2009, at 11:00 AM, in Westview Cemetery, with the Reverend Marion Jay officiating.
Mrs. McDowell, daughter of the late Bertram Freeman and Bertha Nye Marshall, was a genealogist and an author. She was a member of the Augusta Genealogical Society and the Colonial Dames.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, Kenneth Marshall, William Marshall, and Richard Marshall, and by her sister, Janet Marshall.
She is survived by a brother and sister in law, Bertram and Ruth Marshall, of Connecticut; niece Jerri Brown and her husband Andy; great niece, Tricia Izzo; great great niece, Avery Izzo; nephew, Donald Tilton and his wife, Janet; and great niece, Angel Tilton.
