I am researching my SKINNER ancestors and would like to find a complete listing of William Howard Skinner's children. I have a number of them but believe that he possibly had older children by a first and maybe second wife before the set of children that I know about. I know that Howard was born in GA circa 1780 and migrated westward sometime before 1820. I have him in MS Territory census records but children aren't named individually on these. At this time the oldest child I can verify is Preston Jefferson Skinner, b. 1820 and since Howard would have been age 40 by then, I believe there are older children that I haven't been able to identify. I am specifically trying to determine if his oldest son might have been Thomas A. Skinner, born between 1800-1810 in GA, and died 1836 in Mobile, AL. If you have any information on Howard's older children, I would appreciate your help. By the way, I have found a town in Georgia, near the Augusta area, named Skinnerville, and there is a Skinner Family cemetery there. I have not been able to determine if Isaac, Howard's father, is buried there or not, but it is in the same area where Isaac lived. Isaac died in late 1804 or early 1805. His wife and others of his family migrated westward around 1815. His wife settled near Tuscaloosa, AL along with one of their sons, Thomas Hiram Abeth Skinner. Howard moved around AL for a time and finally settled in Clarke County, MS, where he lived until his death between 1860-70. I have not been able to locate Howard's grave yet but am still looking. Howard was my ggg-grandfather. I am a descendant of his son, William D. Skinner. Thanks for your help. I will be willing to share information.
