Does anyone have an obituary, newspaper article, or any information on the August 1870 murder of
George WHEELER in old Milton Co. Georgia?
We've been searching for years on this. PERSI Index lists nothing. Georgia State Archives sent
Fulton Co. Court Minutes on the murderer indictment (which tell nothing since the man was never
brought to trial). GA St. Archives also sent copy of Governor's reward proclamation of $1,000; that
double amount of others on same page. This leads one to think this may be an important George
WHEELER story.
There were a couple of north GA men with the same name as the indicted and we are trying to
determine "who done it". Thanks for any leads or suggestions, M. M. M.
