The Ezekial Harris House was wrongly identified for many years as MacKay's Trading Post. In the early 1980s researchers found the MacKay House had been demolished. The misidentified house is the Ezekial Harris House, built in 1797. It is owned by the city of Augusta and is open for tours Tuesday thru Friday from 1 to 4 pm. It is a wonderful house and the second oldest in Augusta. It was also known as the White House though research found that the original color was gray. It was painted white sometime in the 19th century.
