We have a very active Taylor County Mailing list and we'd love to have you join.
There are lots of Amerson families in Taylor County over a long period of time, and hopefully someone would be able to help you out.
In the 1880 census there is a Jesse Sr. age 55 married to Elizabeth, and Jesse Jr. ag 25 married to Ella the daughter of James T & Sarah Harmon
This doesn't match your dates, but hopefully someone else will know more.
There is an Evans Amerson living with Isom Jones, whose wife Emily was an Amerson. Says he was his nephew.
I'm working on getting the 1880 census on-line, but it is not complete.
