According to his death certificate:
Awford Thomas Davis was born on November 25, 1894
in Tn to Van Davis and Jennie Norman.
He died at the age of 49 - cause unknown
on March 25, 1944 at the time he was already
a widow. He is buried at Morris Hill Cemetery.
Occupation listed as News Company.
Informant listed as Maude Blair.
In the 1920 Census he is living on Campbell St. In Hamilton County TN. Occupation listed as a waiter.
He lists his father's birth place as Georgia. Mother's
birthplace as TN.
It appears that Awford had a brother named
Garland E. Davis who was born on April 6, 1900
in Tn and died in Chattanooga on June 29, 1944.
He was married at the time to Emma Son Davis.
He parents were listed as Van Davis and Jannie Norman.
His occupation was listed as a taxi driver.He was
44 years old.
