Charles Henry Gabbert was born 30Jan1839 in Greenbrier
Co., WV and died before 1879. Don't know who his father
was, but his mother's name was Margaret Gabbert, I
believe the same Margaret (born 02Feb1816) who was a
daughter of Jacob Gabbert Jr. and Elizabeth Handley.
Charles married first 25Nov1862 Martha Ann Tuckwiller.
They had two daughters:
1. Maggie Gabbert b.1864
2. Elizabeth H. "Bettie" Gabbert b.08Mar1869
Charles married second 03Jun1872 Vilinia Lowe.
I don't think that they had any children because in
the 1880 Greenbrier census, Maggie and Elizabeth
are listed as granddaughters in the home of Margaret
Gabbert.
I don't know what happened to Vilinia. On 17Dec1879 a
Vilinia J Gabbert married Harvey Clingman (Virginia
Marriage Records). Could be the same person.
In the 1860 Greenbrier census, Margaret (age 44) is
head of household with son Charles H. (age 21).
In the 1850 Greenbrier census, Margaret (age 33) is
living with her mother, Elizabeth and sister Martha.
Charles is not listed for some reason.
