Hi, I've not got any more info that ties in directly with yours. But given that the name is not too common it could be worth a check to see if my John Gabbitass b 1796 was the brother of your George b1800. John's first child was born in Womersley Yorkshie but they were in Worksop by 1830 as John appears in the Pigots directory of that year. You are most welcome to contact me by direct email. Janet
