There is a small group of us doing genealogical research on the Gabe descendants of Joseph & Caroline Fulgur Gabe.

Census records indicate that they came from Germany in the 1850s. They came into America through New Orleans and migrate to West Virginia. As glassblowers, their migration seems to follow that industry's growth. They are later found in Belmont County, WV. Gertrude Gabe, dau. of Joseph & Caroline, married and went to Muncie, Delaware County, IN (home of the Ball Jar Manufacturing Co.)

My line runs particularly as follows:

Joseph & Caroline Gabe
|
v
Gertrude Gabe m. Christopher Moreain

|
v
Carrie Moreain (b. 1884) had daughter with Albert Wilson
|
v
Katie Moreain m. Cecil VanNatter
|
v
Eugene VanNatter m. Vivian P. Farmer
|
v
Sandra VanNatter m. Steven L. Shaw
|
v
Matthew Shaw

If anyone is related to this Gabe line, we are very interested in hearing from you.

The cousins that I am in contact with will also be posting Gabe information to this forum.

I apologise that I have no particular dates posted, but I don't have my research present with me.

More to come!
