Hiya Leigh,
Just spotted your input on this geneology site, like you I am fascinated by the family past, Well, fascinated might be too big a word, although I did manage to spell it correctly.
By the way, I'm Pat, from Bristol...ex Manc..yer DAd's cousin. There are hordes of us from Manchester, I've got four bro's and two sisters...you probably know our Mo cos she knocks around with Zelda quite a bit. I have got a wife, three sons who currently have four childers between them. We all live together in field of trees and green, within a mile or so of each other. When we were kids, we used to have quite a lot to do with the Liverpool side of the family, wot wiv me da being scouse an that. My memory is pants but I'll tell you what I do remember.
My grandma was a feisty tiny little lady who lived in Spencer St in Everton, down in the basement with green baize on the table, a huge aspidistra in the window and the smell of gravy permeating the whole house, My uncle george, who was a huge huggable lovely man, lived there together with Monty who we called uncle although he really wasn't(in fact I believe he was a sailor who injured himself by falling out of the rigging? he might have been a bloody pirate.Anyway he was as deaf as a post and you had to really shout in his ear to make him understand anything.Grandma used to like bottle of Guiness or stout, which we got from the offy down the road.Uncle Joe and Aunty Lil, your dad's mum and dad were the salt of the earth, joe being my dads brother. Aunty lils laugh was so dirty and she was so funny with it..I was at their house one day and Lil was doing the washing, pulled out a pair of Kens scanties and shouted, Eureka our Kennys farting golddust..I used to love going there. All this roobarb might be headin' into the blue yonder so I'll quit for now...if you want a second series of shock horror revelations e-me at gablerz@aol.com Bye for now, Pat
