Bill, I have some information regarding the family of Francis Joseph Gabler, Berlin, Germany - wife Maria E. Fernekes, b. abt 1816, Berlin. His son, John Jacob, b. 19 Apr 1851, New York City, NY, d. Aug 1935 Long Beach, Los Angeles, CA married twice: 1st to Samantha Lamb. They had two children, George and Olive - dates unk. He married 2nd 11 Sep 1882 to Mary Agnes Brannick, b. 10 Dec 1857 Watertown, MA, d. 4 Nov 1933 Rialto, CA.They had 6 children. Your William was the eldest. Then Earl J. Gabler, b. 5 Aug 1886; Frank H. Gabler, b. 21 Jan 1889; Roy A. Gabler, b. 2 Jan 1891, Nellie W. Gabler, b. 6 Mar 1895, and Dora Brannick Gabler, b. 11 Apr 1898, d. 21 Dec 1981 San Bernardino, CA. Nellie married my uncle Harry Uverdale Gavette 24 Jun 1913 in Gunnison, CO. They had only one son before Nellie died during the terrible flu epidemic, 4 Nov 1918. Their son was Harry Uverdale Gavette Jr. I got my original information from Ancestry.com under "Caudebec in America". However, my subscription has expired and I can no longer afford to keep it.
