Thomas, the Mary Gant that married a White was the daughter of William Gant. William was the son of Lunsford Gaunt/Gant of Lincoln County, Georgia and his second wife, Charlotte (last name unknown). My ancestor was James Gant, son of Lunsford and his first wife, Sarah Ratcliff.
Mary's family is on the 1850 census in Holmes County, Ms. I will paste that onto this message, and hope that it goes on. Also, Mary's own family is on the 1870 census in Holmes County, Ms.
