Dave: I sure could use you help on your branch of the Garkie Tree.
Eli Garkie was my grandfather and Bettie Hadfield was my step grandmother. My grandmother was Sarah Almarine Kesner who was killed during a storm when a tree fell across their wagon. Sarah and Eli had 4 children and Bettie and Eli had 12 children. Eli married a third time to Rosa Richardson.
The name was misspelled as immigrants and is Gerke from Prussia.
My mother was a Garkie and had 7 sisters. Her father was George F. Garkie.
