I was so excited to come across your post!! My grandmothers maiden name is Marie Loria. Her mothers maiden name was Vincenzina (Vincenza) Ochhipinti. She was married to Joseph Loria (his name when he came over on the boat was Guisseppi). They were some kind of cousins...I guess thats just how they did in italy back in the day lol). When my great grandma came over on the boat, they changed her name from Vincenza to Jennie. Her mothers name was Maria, there was an Andrew somewhere in the family too, a brother I believe. Vincenza's fathers name was very tall, with red hair and blue eyes (thats what caught my eye in your post, there arent many sicilians with red hair! LOL)!! They were all from Camporeale Sicily. Vincenza had the youngest daughter, she had 2 older sisters I know...Annie who was around 10 yrs older than my GGma, (Im not sure what that was short for exactly), Vita who was 5 years older than my GGma (whose name was misinterpretted as Freda when she came over on the boat). Let me know if any of this sounds like there may be a connection...
