My French Huguenot forebears spelled their name Guerin and came from St Nazaire, Saintogne, France, but there is fragmentary evidence that some of them used the same name as the river. There may be a connection here but it is likely that there is little evidence to establish it. It has taken much effort and research to trace the family name back to France. If you have any details I am willing to share. Thanks, HRG
