I have been an Ancestry member for quite a few years. It has its limitations but I have enjoyed the convenience of looking at the records from my home computer.
Our library does have access to Ancestry and a great printer than can be used to make a copy of the images but there is a lot to be said for the convenience of working from home.
Ancestry used to give you a free 14 day trial. The trial would give you an idea if there were records about your family and extended family that would make the full membership worthwhile.
I've read a lot of negative comments here about Ancestry and know other people have different opinions. I have benefited by my membership.
