How Accurate are Their Records?

I've finally gave in and subscribed to Ancestry and have gotten alot out of it, especially the census records. BUT, there are tons of errors - from the informants, census takers, transcribers and retranscribers. As I've gained experience I've learned the values of alt name searches and wild * card searches. In addition to the above, it appears another level of transcribers has added to the mix - Ancestry indexers who get names and locations wrong. At least Ancestry has a way to do corrections.
