Generations Software Forum

I purchased Generations Grande Suite 8 software several years ago and installed it on a computer with Windows 98. I love this software! This computer shows signs of its age (it has stopped working many times, but eventually comes back and works). My problem is this: I loaned my software package to someone years ago and I can't remember who has it. I did buy a Family Tree Maker product about 2 years ago, but it is very hard to hand key all of the information in the new software and I am worried about typos that I may make. Since I don't have the old software to load on the new computer and transfer data, is there anything I can do to save the information before the old computer crashes? Is there any way I can purchase another copy of that software? Also, in order to avoid the problem of unavailable software, what software package is safe for me to purchase and use. I want to share my information with as many branches of my family as I possibly can.
