I have the old generations deluxe (v 4.2) and tried to run the program with no success on vista. After checking the offer for the latest generations software, it was clear that no testing was done on vista. If their is a patch for vista, I haven't seen it. At present I am hoping that saving my files in gedcom form will work with a vista compatible genealogy program, but I can't be sure of it. Perhaps checking with microsoft will provide an answer to the question. The old v 4.2 worked so well that I didn't see a reason to upgrade until now and I still wouldn't if were not for the lack of support by vista. This is not any help to those who purchased the latest software, but I will continue to look into the problem.
