Information disappearing v. 8 and v. 8.5

I'm having a problem adding information, dates, etc. I add a date and click the save button and the info disappears. Or if it adds the information it erases one piece of information somewhere else. I ordered the Generations 8.5 thinking it was my XP that could be the problem but it still does the same thing. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.
