Hallo Chris,
Iam a member of the Gerth family as wel.
My oldest Gerth is also from Darmstadt (Hessen, Germany). He was the great-grandfather of my grandfather. His name is Friedrich Daniel Gerth. He was born in 1753. As a youngster he went to Holland, married there and stayed forever. His wife was named Aaltje van Nieuwenhijse.
