I need information on the Gilleland family tree and origin of the family for a school project. I am trying to find out when the family immigrated to the U.S., where they came from, why they came, when they came and where they settled or port of entry. My father’s name is Danny Yates Gilleland and my grandfather’s name is Samuel Yates Gilleland. They were both from North Carolina. I think the family originated in Ireland and/or Scotland. Any information will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
