Dear Diana Erickson,
My grandfather was one of the few males of the Gladheim/Gladem/Gladeim family that immigrated to America. I have encountered a few daughters who were born to the Gladem family but married before they came. But I can't say I've seen the name Hans in this line. Olson is very important name.... at least 1 child in every family is named after a grandparent by the name Ole. Actually my grandfather went by Ole Gladheim.... but that is another story.
Can you tell me more? I can take the Gladem family back to before 1700 and then some. Was your Anne Hansdatter Gladem born in Nord Aurdal? Have you checked the parish records on microfilm at the LDS? Also, do you know if she was still alive or living in N. Aurdal in 1865? They have censuses on line for 1801, 1865, and 1900. Let me know if I can be of any help.
