Francis Lane Goddard and family lived at Little Creek Hundred in Sussex Co, DE. The will of Francis Lane Goddard was written 25 May 1794 and presented for probate on 21 Nov 1794. Mentioned in the will are his wife Mary; sons, Griffith Goddard, John Goddard, and William Goddard; daughters, Eunice Goddard, Sarah Goddard, and Goodin Goddard. Who was the wife of Francis Lane Goddard? I have been unable to find a marriage for the couple. The marriage date would have been c1750-55. Griffith Goddard died 1811 in Sussex county. By 1st wife he had a son named William Goddard and by 2nd wife he had daughters, Nancy Goddard, born 6 Apr 1806 and Maria Goddard, born Dec 1809. What became of them? John Goddard married Sarah Weatherly Waller and moved to Gallatin Co, KY. William Goddard (whom I believe to be my 4th great-grandfather), married Elizabeth Kellam?? and moved to Greene Co, PA. Eunice Goddard married William Collins. Sarah Goddard, no info. Goodin Goddard married John Horsey. Any descendants out there? Would really like to hear from you. Have found no living relatives of son Griffith Goddard, or daughters, Eunice, Sarah and Goodin Goddard.
