Goddard's in GA/SC

After reading through several other posts on Goddard's in GA, I'm not sure where I fit in, so I thought I'd post another generic message and see if anyone can help me out. First, if you have any Goddard connections to Dekalb Co., GA after 1870, please contact me. Second, I have a serious brick wall. Looking for the parents/family of Robert (Marshall) Goddard, apparently born 1844 in GA and died 1911. Robert does not belong to any of the established Dekalb Co. Goddard's (William, Clement, James). Lists his parents' birthplaces as South Carolina. He is not on the 1860 Dekalb census, but in 1861 enlisted in a Dekalb Co. regiment. In 1868 he married Josephine Tweedel. Their children were Robert Marshall Jr., Donnie, Cossie, John M., Mary, and Fannie.

This family must have originated in South Carolina and somehow Robert Goddard ended up in Dekalb Co., GA. Please please contact me if you think you may have a connection. Later family members include Robert M. III, Albert Lafayette, Homer Lee, Lucille, Josephine, and Lillie Mae Goddard. Interested in what happened to this family. Thanks a bunch!
