Ruth F. Goddard, 80
Ruth F. Goddard, 80, of Greensburg, died Thursday, Oct. 9, 2003, at Decatur County Memorial Hospital in Greensburg. Born May 25, 1923, in Decatur County, she was the daughter of Russell and Margarel (Willeford) French, both deceased. She married B. Howard Goddard on March 3, 1945; he preceded her in death on April 29, 1995. Mrs. Goddard had lived in Decatur County her entire life and had resided on North East Street in Greensburg since 1952. She was a 1941 graduate of Greensburg High School. She worked as a license branch manager until her retirement in 1986. She was a member of Greensburg Presbyterian Church; Eastern Star; Psi Iota Xi Sorority, for which she was a past president; Shrine Guild; Scottish Rite; and Department Guild. Survivors include several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Gilliland-Howe Funeral Home in Greensburg, with the Rev. Joe Fields officiating. Burial will follow in South Park Cemetery in Greensburg. Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions are requested to the charity of the donor's choice.
