Looking for information on the family of Francis Lane Goddard of Sussex County, DE. Francis died there in 1794 and his will is on record. His will lists his wife, Mary. Her maiden name is unknown. Some say Waller? No record found. Children for Francis and Mary were: 1)Griffith Goddard who died c1811. Married twice; second wife was Heneriette Halder/Holder. 2)John Goddard who married Sarah Weatherly Waller. They moved to KY c1810 and both died there. Had at least nine daughters. 3) William Goddard. I believe this is my 4th great-grandfather who settled in western PA (Greene County) c1785. Wife was Elizabeth. Maiden name unknown, but have speculated it could be Kellam as their oldest son's name was Henry Kellam Goddard. 4) Eunice Goddard married William Collins, per will. 5)Sarah Goddard; no other information.6)Goodin Goddard married John Horsey. In his will, Francis leaves each one of his daughters a "looking glass" and to Eunice, a "walnut table", to Sarah "a blue tea table" and to Goodin "my chest." So, families these children married into include, Halder/Holder, Waller, Collins, Horsey and possibly Kellam. I have been doing research on this family since the late 1970's. Am willing to share info and hope to find some new cousins.
