I am chasing my Hubby's ancestry, on the thinest of clues. I am looking for information on a Titus Goddard, born 24 February 1783, possibly in CT. He married Semantha Adams, who was born 4 October 1786. Their son, Austin Goddard, was born 11 January 1805 in CT. Austin Goddard died 16 February 1885, location unknown. He was married 1 January 1835 to Mabil Cossill or Cossitt, who was born 14 February 1811.
One of the children of Austin Goddard and Mabel Cossill/Cossitt was Mianda (not Miranda!) Goddard, born 10 March 1842 in CT. Mianda died 4 October 1919, possibly in WA. She was married 1 December 1865 to Thomas Miles. I can find them in the 1880 census in Ophir, LaSalle Co IL. Austin Goddard is listed as Thomas' brother-in-law, but I am certain he was the father-in-law. An Albert Goddard is there, also.
Thomas and Mianda (Goddard) Miles were the parents of Charlotte Mabel Miles, born 29 April 1877 in LaSalle Co IL. She was my husband's grandmother. Grandfather was Frank Ferdinand Sisseck.
