There are several "olde" GODDARD families in Berks/Wilts; some are definitely related, others may not be.

From what I have seen/read Chievely was not the home of any GODDARD family as such, although GODDARDs from other areas wandered through the parish every so often. Bucklebury, Aldbourne and Swindon GODDARD families all seem to have passed through Chievely at one time or another..

It is a bit more complicated than it might originally appear...
