Hello!~~ Because of the date difference, my GODDARD probably has nothing to do with yours, but I thought I would ask in case you have any research suggestions. My John GODHARD (on 1797 will) / GODDARD (crossed out on will) / GOODHEART (in local histories) / GEDDERT / GETTERT (on deeds) / etc. was born sometime BEFORE 1722, maybe before 1710. According to local family histories (which may be incorrect!), he was from England. He married Sophia UNKNOWN sometime before 1739 when his daughter, Anna Maria GODHARD was born (place unknown). His other two known daughters were Ann Catharine & Elizabeth. They were living in Northampton County, Pennsylvania, by 1761 but probably earlier. The earliest deed I have found is 1763. We are trying to find out where they were before Northampton County, PA - in England? - and who John GODHARD's ancestors were. Is there a certain section of England where GODDARDs are most prevalent? Have you found any helpful ENGLAND research sites. Thanks for any suggestions! I don't get on-line often, and check my e-mail more than I do the postings.
