Our research found Dillard (Sr.) in Cobb Co.,GA in 1840. He was born about 1791. We have seen Hugh's name in doing our research but were never able to make a connection. We also found a Hugh Goen in Brazos, TX 1880 census. It has his age as 56. That is fairly close to Johnson Co. where Dillard jr. lived. By the way, Dillard Jr. had a brother named William. One of William's descendents has the name Hugh so we thought for a while there might have been a connection to the Hugh from SC. We have a copy of a will from Henry Going about 1804 where he left property to Dillard, Lewis and Hezekiah and Leadice. Do any of these names mean anything to you. We also thought there might have been older children that were not mentioned. We would like to get a connection.
