Do enjoy your holiday and Southwold. I've not done anything about relatives in England. I'm working on this side of the Atlantic only. Although it is on my list, I've not even done the necessary research in Southold, Long Island. Started instead with those who went from Southold to Orange Co., NY, and have been following them. I hope to be able to do enough of my own research or collaborate with others to publish a series of books - not just wiring diagrams but stories of where folks lived, what they did to earn a living, etc. (And I've not touched New England. There is a passel of Goldsmiths there but I'll not live long enough to sort them out.)
