Had no idea there were so many Gossard's. In my travels I have often looked in phone books and rarely do a find a Gossard listed.
Wanted to relate a person experience that I had about thirty years ago in Switzerland. I signed in to stay at a hotel in Visp, Switzerland. After signing the register, the receptionist commented, "Did you know that your ancestors came from this area of Switzerland?' I had heard from my father and grandmother that the early Gossard had emigrated from there, but that truly confimed it for me. The letter that I read about Phillip Gossard was also a tale often told to me as a child.
