My Mother's maiden name is Gozzard - she is Jacqueline Davies-Gozzard, daughter of Ernest Gilbert Gozzard, living in Nottinghamshire. Her brother - John Gozzard (my uncle)lives in Oulton in Leeds.
My Grandfather Gozzard was from a large family - living (I think) in Staffordshire in the middle of the last century, although there is a welsh mining connection.
If anyone knows of this branch of the Gozzard clan please do let me know.
One of our distant Gozzard relatives contacted us a few years ago re' our ancestory and from what I remember we left France with the Revocation of the Edict Of Nantes in the 16th Century. We were silk weavers and were persecuted for our faith. We settled in the UK and the rest is history!
