Dear Sylvia,
It is indeed the same family. My great grandfather was John Gozzard's brother. I always remember my grandmother saying very proudly two bothers married two sisters therefore we are double cousins. My great grandfather was also a builder and the two brothers built a lot of the back to back houses in Harehills Leeds. All the girls in both families had to decorate them.
My grandmother was the youngest of thirteen , I understand there were the same number of children in John Gozzard's family. I can remember seeing Harriet Gozzard when I was a little girl, she looked just like Grandma Giles!
With my grandma being the youngest, and my mother not being born until my grandma was 40 ,I don't remember meeting any other Gozzards, but I may have done .
I remember calling at a butcher's shop in Harehills which was owned by a Gozzard relation.
Some of my granmother's siblings were:-Ada, Walter, John-Edward , her name was Nellie.
How exciting to meet someone from ther same family, do you have any more details?
