Hello

Yes we have looked into Jasper Hill and the family. My mum has done most research on this and is checking back with me tonight to ensure I have the details correct but I believe we have Jasper Hill marrying Leah Stocker Guppy in Axminster 1843: children Rebecca born March 1846 Honiton /died June quarter 1852 Lambeth (London); John Alfred Tom Hill born Lambeth dec quarter 1852, Julia Anna Hill born dec quarter 1855 Lambeth. She appears to end up with her grandparents. May be others.

John A T Guppy Hill is on the 1861 census UK aged 7 with another family of Guppys - Head of household is John Guppy of Hontion aged 40 (a school master). It states that JAT Guppy is a nephew born in Lambeth. We wondered if this meant Leah and Jasper had died.

Would love to know what information you have on Jasper in Canada with dates to see if he left before 1861 which would make some sense. We have some certificates I am happy to scan and share with you if you don't have them.

I will get back to you shortly when I have reviewed all this with mum.

regards
Kathryn
