SHREVEPORT, LA - Funeral services for David E. Green, 84 will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, October 17, 2009 at Rose-Neath's Southside Chapel. Officiating will be Rev. John Harp and Rev. Donny Lee. Interment will follow in Forest Park West Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Friday, October 16, 2009.
David was born on January 4, 1925 in Birmingham, AL to James and Annie Mae Green. He passed away on October 15, 2009. David was a resident of Shreveport. As a member of Brookwood Baptist Church, he served faithfully as a deacon, Sunday school teacher and a bus driver. He was a retired truck driver.
David was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Roma F. Green; daughters, Charlotte Charrier, Mitzi Wages, Ruth Hunter and Sandra Kirkpatrick; sister, Martha Wells; brothers, Chauncey and Willie Green; 7 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren.
