Hi Barb,
The family you wrote about was that of Philip Lorentz Greenawalt b.1725 d.1802 married to Anna Maria Margaret Fusser, thier son John Philip b.1756 d.1834 and Catharine Shaffner b.1760 d.1850 were the parents of Jacob b.1784 d.1854 married to Catharine Krause b.1789 d.1864 thier children were, Louisa Catharine, Elizabeth Regina, Theophilus Philip, Cammila Susannah, Theodore David, Regina Camilla, Jacob and Jeremiah Krause Greenawalt. Jacob was a well known and prosperous tanner in the Harrisburg, Pa. area and I don't believe he ventured any further west than Harrisburg, he his wife and five of their children are buried in the Harrisburg cemetery.
Philip Lorentz lived in what is now Lebanon, Lebanon County, Pa. as a matter of fact he owned property on what is now main street in Lebanon.

There are a few other Greenawalt families from Berks County, Pennsylvania one of which I am descended, John b.abt 1740 and Anna Barbara Schmidt b.about 1744 and married June 18,1765 had a son Philip Joseph b.1766 d.abt 1849 and Mary Ann b.abt 1764 d.bef 1849 were the parents of Jacob b.1795 d.aft 1878 and Kathryn Kaylor b.abt 1796 d.bef 1860 and they were the parents of Joseph L. b.1813 d.1896 and Jane Grossman b.1812 d.1876 , Joseph had a second wife Mary Jane Kissinger. As I said before these were my ancestors.

I hope I havn't confused you even more but if I have please ask.

Al.
